BFCitC Shadow Youth Team - Trials at Nelson and Colne College

The Burnley FC Shadow Youth Team (SYT) programme is delivered by Burnley FC in the Community staff in partnership with the Nelson and Colne College Group. The programme gives talented young players between the ages of 16 and 18 the chance to combine academic studies with practical football experience. It is designed to bridge the gap between grassroots and academy football.

Tue 21st June 2022 12:00-14:00

PARTICIPANTS: This programme is aimed at males aged 16-18.

The criteria that must be met for players/students to register for and attend a Shadow Youth Team trial are:

•You must be a UK or Irish citizen.

•You must reside in the UK and hold a British or EU passport. All players that register online who do not meet either of the above will NOT be able to attend a trial. This is because Nelson and Colne College is not registered to accept international students that come to the UK on a study/student visa. If an applicant was to apply for a study/student visa and put Nelson and Colne College down as the educational facility, it would be rejected. The Shadow Youth Team (SYT) is a football and education programme, meaning the application of a visa to play football in the UK will be rejected. This is because the SYT programme does not pay or offer unpaid scholarships to the players/students who are part of the programme. The Shadow Youth Team is also unable to sponsor any players looking to do so.
